Harvest Apostolic Church is a Bible-based church. We're Bible-based in that we seek to base all of our beliefs and our lifestyle on explicit passages of the Bible or on biblical principles. Based on Scripture, we believe the following . . .
FUNDAMENTAL DOCTRINE
Our basic and fundamental doctrine shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38; I Peter 3:20,21; Mark 16:16; Titus 3:5) We shall endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit until we all come into the unity of the faith, all the same time admonishing all brethren that they shall not contend for their different views to the disunity of the body.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is the literal Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man that is applicable to our lives today. We accept it as the authority for salvation and Christian living. (II Timothy 3:15-17)
ABOUT GOD
There is one God. He is the one ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This God has revealed Himself as our Father as Creator of all things, in His Son, Jesus Christ, as Redeemer and as the Holy Spirit in Regeneration. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man, the incarnate God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16)
ABOUT SIN AND SALVATION
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:5, Luke 13:3, Acts 2:38).
ABOUT THE GOSPEL
The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (See I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)
ABOUT CHRISTIAN LIVING
As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. We believe the Church has been "called out" of the world to be a habitation of God through the Spirit. As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to mankind. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (Mark 12:28-31; II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10)
ABOUT DIVINE HEALING
Miracles have not ceased because Jesus Christ has not changed (Hebrews 13:8). Christ shed His blood for the redemption of our souls, the healing of our bodies, the restoration of peace to our mind (Isaiah 53:5; Psalm 103:3). Believers are commanded to pray for the sick (Mark 16:18; James 5:14).
ABOUT THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
The biblical manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still in operation today. God ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government. (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11)
ABOUT THE FUTURE
Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (See I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15.)
ABOUT MARRIAGE
Marriage has been instituted by God. Harvest Apostolic Church defines “marriage” as the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman in which such a union is a lifetime commitment. A civil governments sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by the church (HAC) only to the extent that it is consistent with the definition of “marriage” found in this statement.
ABOUT HUMAN SEXUALITY
Legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence, sexual relations outside of marriage (referred to in the New Testament as “porneia”) including but not limited to, adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality, and pedophilia are inconsistent with the teaching of the Bible and the Church. Further, lascivious conduct, transgenderism, and the creation and/or distribution and/or viewing of pornography, are incompatible with the biblical witness.
